ANMC Hosts Grand Melbourne Saptaha Mahayagya for Dashain Festival Celebration

Melbourne, VIC: In a celebration of cultural diversity and spiritual unity, the Australian Nepalese Multicultural Centre (ANMC) is all set to host the grand Melbourne Saptaha Mahayagya, marking the auspicious occasion of Dashain Festival.

The 9-day event, named Melbourne Saptaha -2, will kick off on October 15th and conclude on October 24th with the traditional Tika and Jamara ceremony. Devotees and participants will gather at the serene venue located at 100 Duncans Lane, Diggers Rest, VIC, to partake in the festivities.

The highlight of the Mahayagya will be the special ceremony on Mahaastami Day, scheduled for October 22nd. The program promises a diverse range of activities including chanting, dramatic presentations, spiritual discourse, cultural dance performances, engaging activities for children, and captivating religious storytelling.

Renowned Religious Guru Dinbandhu Pokharel, a stalwart in the Nepali spiritual community, will lead the enthralling religious storytelling sessions, enriching attendees with profound insights and spiritual wisdom.

Weekdays will see the event unfold from 4:00 PM to 8:30 PM, while on weekends, participants can immerse themselves in the festivities from 2:00 PM to 8:30 PM.

In a significant milestone, ANMC has recently purchased a sprawling 15-acre parcel of land, earmarked for the establishment of a multicultural centre. A temporary Hindu Temple has already been established, where regular worships are underway, fostering a sense of community and spiritual harmony.

Mr. Gandhi Prasad Bhattarai, President of ANMC, expressed his excitement about the upcoming Mahayagya during a press meet held this Saturday. He said, “The Melbourne Saptaha Mahayagya is not just a religious event; it’s a celebration of our rich cultural heritage and a symbol of unity within our diverse community. ANMC is proud to bring this event to life, and we invite everyone to join us in this spiritual journey.”

Dr. Tilak Pokharel, Secretary of ANMC, added, “This Mahayagya is a testament to the spirit of togetherness that defines our community. It’s an opportunity for people of all backgrounds to come together, learn, and celebrate our shared values. We look forward to welcoming everyone with open hearts and open minds.”

ANMC extends a warm invitation to everyone, irrespective of cultural background, to join in the celebration of Dashain, immersing themselves in the spirit of unity, devotion, and cultural appreciation.
